Description
The Ox-tongue or Gasteria, is a genus of succulent plants, named for its stomach-shaped flowers which grow in clusters from an inclined stem. They have thick, hard, succulent "tongue-shaped" leaves.and are closely related to Aloes and Haworthias.
HOW TO USE
- Indoors, potted gasteria should be planted in bright light but not direct sunlight
- Like most succulents, these plants need little water or fertilizer
- Feed once a year in the spring
- Do not let water fall directly on the leaves and water on soil
- Water evenly and generously in the summer, and allow the soil to dry out between watering
- In the winter, reduce watering to every other month, but do not stop watering
- Do not allow water collect in between the leaves
